Determine who is interested in starting a Chapter: a working group of pharmacy technicians or a student group. AAPT requires 10 active members or a student chapter requires 2 active members and 8 student members.
Organize your first few meetings.
Determine your wish to establish an AAPT Chapter.
Get acquainted with all members of your group. What is each member’s interest and how can each work toward making the chapter successful?
Understand the Chapter Responsibility to become a Chapter.
Send ALL chapter meeting minutes to the AAPT Executive Board and request to start a new chapter. This letter should include Chapter Officers’ names, a list of all paid members (Active chapter 10 active members, Student chapter 2 active members & 8 student members), Name of the Chapter, Chapter Constitution and Bylaws, and a request to begin a new chapter.
The AAPT Executive Board meets quarterly. All complete applications for beginning a chapter will be heard during the next Executive Board Meeting.
